Texel pioneered the use of
nonwoven felts in the shoe industry. They were the first to suggest
replacing existing materials with nonwoven products made of wool and
synthetic fibers. Today Texel felts are used in upholstery, sporting goods,
in the fashion industry, in the shoe industry with felt packs, fillers and
insoling and in the healthcare field as well as in heavy industry. |

In 1975 Texel became the first
Canadian geotextile manufacturer. Texel's geotextiles' very special
characteristics enable them to act in four major ways: separator, drain,
filter. reinforcement. |

In the early 80s, Texel
developed a range of new products for the liquid and gas filtration market.
By using different types of fibers such as polyester, polypropylene,
viscose, aramid and the appropriate finishes (glazing, singeing, coating),
Texel provides an extensive selection of nonwoven filter products. |
